Every effort will be made to practice social distancing by family in the pews, distributing Communion, leaving and entering the church. The balcony will be reserved for those who are at high risk and/or would prefer to distance themselves as much as possible. If you are in the balcony, you must wear a mask. Please do not gather in the back of church and refrain from the shaking hands.
A limited number of bulletins will be made available but must not be returned. The service will be on screens.
Distribution of the Lord’s Supper will be continuous to ensure social distancing and will be held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
Offering baskets will not be passed. Instead they will be placed at the entrance to the sanctuary. One will be labeled “Mt. Calvary” and the other “Living Word.”
The sanctuary will be sanitized after each service, and we’ll need helpers to do that.
We’ll dismiss by rows to help with social distancing and ask that any conversations take place outside.
There will be no Bible study on Saturday, but we intend to continue our midweek Zoom study, which is normally Tuesdays at 6:30-7:30 PM.
There will be bumps in the road and frustrations.
In order to make this happen we need to work together. Specifically, we need:
God’s people to be patient and understanding as we work together to find the most workable solution
At this time, Gary Sonnenberg from Mt. Calvary will be doing the audio and slides. If you normally help in these areas, you can see how their system works, and eventually we can give him help after a while or from time to time.
Those who have any of the symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, loss of taste or smell) should worship from home.
Those who are at high risk of serious illness, elderly, or have an underlying condition are encouraged to worship from home, but if you prefer to come, you may.
Those who are uncomfortable attending services at this time are encouraged to worship from home.
Those who are uncomfortable with these modifications, or with other worshipers having the freedom to either wear or not wear a mask, should stay home.
Everyone should practice distancing and good hygiene.
We hope to have enough hand sanitizer available at the doors, but please use some from home before you come.
High contact surfaces (like pews and door handles) will be disinfected before and after services.
We will have communion in our service on Saturday, June 6. Then we will continue with the 1st and 3rd Saturdays for communion as usual.
Those who do not wish to commune or are not comfortable communing at this time are certainly free not to do so. Private communion is available by appointment with pastor.
Communion will be done in continuous fashion to maintain a 6-foot separation by family.
The common cup will not be used at this time. Individual cups will be separated in the trays as well.
