Groundbreaking for our first facility will be Sunday, September 15, following our worship service. (We’ll celebrate holy communion the following Sunday to keep the service a little shorter on the 15th.) At 10:45am we’ll end the service and caravan to the future site of Living Word across from Waukesha West HS. At 11:00 we’ll have the groundbreaking ceremony that will include members of our community, ministry partners and those involved with planning and constructing the building.
NOTE: We want everyone to be part of the groundbreaking! So, bring a shovel to join in the ceremony–at least one per family. We’ll find where the outline of the building will be, and everyone will help us with the first turning over of the dirt on the site. Also, bring a small rock (fist-sized or smaller) representing your family with a short prayer, Bible passage, or Christian phrase written on it. We’ll locate the place where the altar will be, and we’ll dig a hole and bury the rocks there to show what our building will be about–glory to God and the spreading of his gospel. Have the rocks written out before you arrive. I might also have each family read what they’ve written on their rock, if time allows–so don’t make them too long! :) Chris Flamand will work with the kids in Faith Quest that morning to do the same with rocks of their own.
