2-Minute Update–Our Lenten Journey Begins
Mar 08
Ash Wednesday—We begin our journey to the cross in the season of Lent as we prepare our hearts to witness Jesus’ suffering and death on Good Friday. Our services will be held at Citizens’ Bank of Mukwonago, Waukesha Branch (2 miles east of Rose Glen on the corner of Hwy. 59 & Center Rd.). We’ll begin at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday, with one exception: instead of Wednesday, April 6, it will be on Thursday, April 7. Each service will be informal, with a video clip from the Gospel of John and a discussion of what we saw. Light refreshments will also be served. If you are able, bring a salad or dessert or bars to share. We’ll celebrate the Lord’s Supper on Ash Wednesday, March 9.
Congregational Meeting—Our congregational meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 16, beginning at 7:15 at Citizens Bank following the Lenten service. It will be brief because it’s a school night, but we’d like inform the congregation about the possibility of leasing or even purchasing another church building in the area, as well as brief updates on the ministry and long-range planning that we’re exploring as a congregation. All confirmed members are encouraged to give their input.
Evangelism Seminar—What do we do when a new member joins Living Word? This year’s evangelism seminar focuses on assimilating new members into active and meaningful ministry as we all grow together in the gospel. This seminar will help Living Word
- Create a meaningful entrance for new members into congregational life
- Lead new members to a greater sense of belonging in our church
- Establish an organized structure for member-care
- Develop a written plan for effective assimilation of members
The seminar will be held on Saturday, March 19, from 9 a.m.-noon at Grace Lutheran Church in Waukesha. If you are interested in joining Pastor Borgwardt at this seminar, please email him at livingword@wi.rr.com.
See you in the Lord’s house.
Pastor Borgwardt
